Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Mix flour., baking powder, and salt together well in a large bowl.
Cut in the shortening until crumbly.
Add milk. Mix until just shaggy.
Pat out and cut into rounds. Stack or don't.
Bake at 425 for 10-12 minutes. If double-stacking, ensure that the center of the stack is done as well. They seem to take a little longer if double stacked.
